I am a registered social worker through the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW). I have been counselling for thirteen years and I currently work as a mental health clinician. I have worked in different places in Canada particularly Winnipeg, Manitoba, Cranbrook, British Columbia, Rankin Inlet, Nunavut, and Edmonton, Alberta. I have worked as a women’s counsellor, community-based victim services, urgent response psychiatric assessment services and addictions counselling. I specialize in grief and loss, and I am very passionate about addiction counselling. I have experience facilitating grief groups and a mindfulness based cognitive therapy groups (MBCT) and I love individual counselling. I am an action oriented and person focused therapist who enjoys meaningful connection and meeting clients where they are at in their stage of change and healing journey. I am very compassionate, understanding, non-judgmental, curious, empathetic, genuine and I show unconditional positive regard for my client’s health and wellbeing. I believe clients are the expert in their lives and I am honored to be a part of their journey to help guide them in their goals and presenting challenges based on their culture and lived experiences. I have a nine year old son who is the light of my life who teaches me every day and challenges me to be a better version of myself. I love to run, hike, bake and write in my gratitude journal which grounds me and allows me to be authentic and reflect on my life purpose. |
